There is a growing interest in new techniques in medicine, such as peptide therapy, with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine noticing the efforts of Dr. Seeds in this A4M podcast.

American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M)
The non-profit organization A4M, or American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, aims to educate medical professionals on cutting-edge technology for quality-of-life-improvement healthcare.
A4M holds two annual conferences attended by 3,000-5,000 physicians each year.
To facilitate the dissemination of knowledge, A4M also offers online courses, podcasts, certifications, and fellowships. Its most recent Spring Congress put the spotlight on redefining medicine.
Redefining Medicine with Dr. Seeds
Dr. William Seeds., MD, FMNM, ABAARM was among the healthcare visionaries and medical practitioners invited by A4M to help enlighten clinicians, researchers, and health leaders. He also sat down with A4M in a related podcast to further discuss the developments on peptide research and why he chose to talk about Mitochondrial Function and Anti-Aging: Senescent Cells, Rapalogs, and Peptides in the A4M Spring Congress 2019.
Dr. Seeds also shared how his experience in both orthopedics and sports medicine for high-level athletes and dancers, like Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, helped him appreciate the power of peptides.
Peptides in Healthcare and Medicine
In his more than 20 years of medical experience, Dr. Seeds applied the use of proteins and peptides in sports medicine for athletes to his patients. His further research into peptides also helped him formulate techniques and systems for peptide therapy.
For example, collagen is a peptide people use to get rid of wrinkles and sagging skin. Insulin is a mainstream peptide that has been aiding in the management of diabetes for years.
Additionally, there are milk peptides used in the management of blood pressure. There is also follistatin which helps decrease body fat and increase muscle mass.
The potential for peptide use in healthcare is massive, as evidenced by multiple pieces of research and clinical studies.
But, there are still some misconceptions about peptides and peptide therapy that limit the efficiency and usage in current systems.

Current Peptide Therapy Misconceptions and Challenges
First, the public still does not fully understand the significance of peptides in treatments. Dr. Seeds advocates for physicians and medical professionals to utilize peptide therapy in their practice as well as teach patients the basics of peptides.
Another misconception lies with the improper use of peptide therapy. Some may think that peptide therapy only involves the introduction of these simplified proteins into the body.
Dr. Seeds clarifies that proper peptide therapy focuses not just on producing peptides. Correct peptide therapy also helps signal the body to properly perform its functions.
We can turn peptide pathways around, rather than simply feed the body more. By utilizing the peptides already produced by the body, physicians can efficiently conserve, as well as improve, patient health.
And, the most important clarification lies with the end goal of peptide therapy. Rather than simply treating diseases, peptide therapy focuses on the leading factor of any disease: aging.
There is developing interest in cell aging, and Dr. Seeds views peptides as a transformative technology that can preempt age-related damage, like autoimmune and cardiovascular diseases, and optimize health. He encourages physicians and healthcare professionals to look into peptides as early as possible so they can utilize them in their practice and see the benefits firsthand.
While relatively new, peptide therapy has already helped doctors improve their patients’ lives. Dr. Seeds advocates for greater exposure of peptides to both the medical world as well as the public.
