  • 1 pack pita bread
  • Salt and pepper for seasoning (optional)

Step 1: Prepare the Oven and Ghosts

Preheat oven to 375°F. Separate pita pockets and cut into ghost shapes with a cookie cutter.

Step 2: Season and Bake

Coat the ghosts with nonstick spray and sprinkle with your desired seasonings. Bake for 5-8 minutes in the oven, or until ghosts are crisp and lightly brown before taking out to cool on a wire rack.

  • 8 mozzarella slices
  • 8 mini bagels
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce/pizza sauce
  • 4 black olives, pitted


Step 1: Preheat and Prepare

Preheat oven to 350°F. Shape the mozzarella slices into ghost shapes using a small knife or a cookie cutter.

Step 2: Prepare Mini Bagels, Then Bake

Spread a layer of sauce over the mini-bagel. Top with the mozzarella cheese ghosts and bake for 10 minutes, or until cheese has melted.

Step 3: Decorate and Serve

Cut the black olives into little dots for eyes and place them on the melted cheese. Serve warm and melty.

  • 340 g white/yellow potatoes
  • Salt and pepper for seasoning
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 Tbsp ketchup
  • 1 carrot, minced
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 680 g peas
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 340 g ground beef
  • 226 g ground pork
  • 12 cherry tomatoes
  • 3/4 cup sour cream


Step 1: Preheat Oven and Boil Potatoes

Preheat oven to 375°F; in the meantime, line a 12-cup muffin pan with foil liners. Boil potatoes, add 1 tsp salt then simmer for 15 minutes or until the potatoes are fork-tender.

Step 2: Prepare the Meatloaf and Bake

In a large bowl, combine the eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper before stirring in the bread crumbs. Add minced garlic, carrots, beef, and pork, then mix until combined.

Divide the meat mix evenly among the lined muffin tins and push a cherry tomato in the middle of each. Bake in the oven for 14-16 minutes, or until a food thermometer inserted into the meat measures 155°F.

Step 3: Make Mashed Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add sour cream and 1/4 tsp salt then mash until smooth.

Step 4: Decorate and Serve

Transfer the mashed potatoes into a pastry bag with a 1/2 inch ribbon tip. Plate the meatloaves and pipe mashed potatoes over each to resemble mummy bandages.

Use the peas for mummy eyes, placing them between strips of mashed potato. Serve warm.

4. Halloween-Themed Roast Vegetables

Take your sides a step ahead with these spooky roasted vegetables. Not only will they give out a Halloween mood, but a healthy helping of fiber and vitamins as well.


  • 2 sweet potatoes
  • 4 peeled, thin carrots
  • 2 white potatoes
  • 3 red beets
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper for seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp dried rosemary
  • 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 bulb of garlic, cloves unpeeled but separated
  • 1 tsp honey


Step 1: Cut and Parboil the Vegetables

Preheat oven to 400°F; meanwhile, bring a large pot of water to boil. Cut both potato variants in half width-wise, then boil quickly for 5 minutes before removing.

With beets and carrots, drop them whole in the boiling water. Cook for another 5 minutes before removing.

Step 2: Cut the Vegetables

After the potatoes have cooled, cut them into 1/2 inch thick slices. Use a small paring knife to cut out Jack-o-lantern faces on the sweet potatoes, and ghosts out of the white potatoes.

Cut beets into 1/2 inch slices and shape them into witches’ hats, stars, or, crescent moons. The carrots should be left alone and will stand in for witches’ fingers.

Step 3: Bake and Serve

Place the sliced vegetables on a baking sheet. Drizzle with the olive oil, and season with salt, pepper, and rosemary, tossing to coat evenly.

Crush garlic cloves and scatter them throughout the pan. Bake the vegetables for 1 hour, flipping them after half an hour.

With 10 minutes left, drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the beets, and honey over the carrots. Return to the oven to finish baking, cooling for a few minutes before serving.

5. Stuffed Halloween Peppers

If carving pumpkins is your Halloween tradition, then this recipe should be easy! Carve out faces on bell peppers and stuff them with your favorite healthy grains and vegetables.


  • 2 red/orange bell peppers (serves 2 people)
  • 130 g of quinoa
  • 1/2 zucchini
  • 75 g Halloumi, cubed
  • 4 Peppadew peppers
  • 1 Tbsp wholegrain mustard
  • Salt, pepper, and garlic powder for seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil


Step 1: Carve the Bell Peppers

Slice off the top of the bell peppers ad carefully remove the insides. Carve your spooky design, but take care not to take away too much or the fillings will fall out easily.

Step 2: Boil Quinoa and Saute Vegetables

Boil the quinoa according to package instructions. In the meantime, heat the olive oil in a frying pan and fry the zucchini and halloumi until lightly brown.

After frying, remove from heat and add your desired amount of pepper and garlic. Toss around in the pan to mix evenly.

Once the quinoa is cooked, drain it. Mix in the fried vegetables.

Step 3: Stuff and Bake

Stuff the peppers with the quinoa mixture and your choice of whole or diced Peppadew peppers. Place on a baking tray and bake at 350°F for about 20-30 minutes.

6. Goofy Apple Bites

These are easy and healthy snacks to make, with just a handful of fruits and nuts. Not to mention they look absolutely bonkers, which is perfect for Halloween.


  • 2 green apples, quartered
  • sunflower/peanut/almond butter
  • 32 sunflower seeds
  • 2-3 strawberries, sliced lengthwise
  • Candy googly eyes/mini chocolate chips


Step 1: Carve Apples

With a paring knife, carefully carve out a mouth in the middle quarter of each apple slice. Coat the inside with sunflower, almond, or peanut butter.

Step 2: Install Teeth and Tongue

Insert sunflower seeds into the top gap of the mouth to resemble teeth. Place a strawberry slice underneath to serve as the tongue.

Step 3: Place Eyes and Serve

Dab points of sunflower, almond, or peanut butter on the upper halves of the apples. Stick on the googly eyes and serve.

  • 1 1/2 cup dried apricot
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cup almond meal
  • 2/3 cup desiccated coconut, unsweetened
  • 1 Tbsp extra virgin coconut oil
  • Mini paper cups
  • Candy eyes
  • 4-5 drops natural orange food coloring
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric


Step 1: Grind Ingredients

Using a food processor with the S-blade attachment, add almond meal, dried apricot, 1/3 cup of the desiccated coconut, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract. Starting with a low speed, process the fillings then put the speed on high for 1-2 minutes, or until a consistent batter forms.

Step 2: Form the Balls

Carefully take out the mixture and shape into small balls with your hand. Make 16 evenly sized balls.

Step 3: Decorate and Serve

Roll the balls in desiccated coconut. The coconut can be colored by mixing them with food coloring.

Embed the candy eyes into the balls while still moist. Serve as is or keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a month.
